Books For Sale
ASTT offers a number of specialist (steam-related) books for sale to members and non-members alike. The current range of available books is listed below and will be expanded in the future. Further information on titles (including postage prices) can be found by clicking on the blue “Find Out More” button on the right of each book entry, which will open the appropriate book’s page.
ASTT’s “in-house” titles are published by ASTT (the trust), but they are printed and sold through the auspices of Advanced Steam Traction Services Ltd (ASTS), which undertakes commercial activities on behalf of the trust, and which markets and sells books from other publishers as may be seen in the listing below. Payments for books should therefore be made to ASTS, either through its PayPal account or by BACS transfer to ASTS’s bank Barclays bank account (please write to info@advanced-steam.org for bank details), or by posting a cheque made out to Advanced Steam Traction Services Ltd to Chris Newman at Flat 4, 2 Kimmerghame View, Edinburgh EH4 2GP, UK.
If placing an order using the PayPal button on one of the book pages, please be sure to select the appropriate postage charge from the drop-down menu.
Price discounts are offered to ASTT members as follows: ASTT titles – 20% on retail price; other titles – 10% discount.
Note: As a consequence of Brexit, EU residents may be required to pay customs duty on ASTT’s in-house publications that are printed in the UK. Lightning Source (the on-demand printing service that we use) has advised that they will be opening a new printing work in France sometime soon which will overcome this problem. However it is not yet known when this will happen.
